Your Questions About Working with Arizona Cement Masons
Is the Arizona Cement Masons Local 394 going to take control of my business and my job site?
Absolutely not -- we want to be your partner in supplying highly skilled and reliable manpower to your job site, but we have no desire to tell you how to run your business. The Arizona Cement Masons want to succeed WITH you, and we are committed to abiding by the agreement we established with you at the onset of a project. The working rules of a contract are agreed upon by both parties, and we will ensure that our workers and labor representatives adhere to those rules, with a good faith understanding that you will, as well.
Will it cost me more to use your manpower as opposed to non-union labor?
By using the Arizona Cement Masons' workforce, you will enjoy numerous cost-saving benefits that will offset any wage differentials with non-union workers:
Reliable, punctual workers - Our cement masons are required to not only be on time, but they will work efficiently and skillfully in order to get the job right the first time. We can guarantee there will be no job-hopping for higher pay or slowdowns for more hours, which have a negative effect on your bottom line.
Labor Costs - We offer set wage rates for our journeymen and apprentices so that you know exactly what to expect with our fixed labor costs. This wage structure also includes retirement and health care costs, which are non-taxable to you. This eliminates an unfunded liability for you with our defined contribution system. Employers incur no administrative costs for pensions and health benefits processing...saving you time and MONEY!
Training Costs - Arizona Cement Masons takes responsibility and absorbs the cost of all training for our apprentices and journeymen. You can be confident that the manpower you receive is up to date on all necessary skills for your job site, without you bearing the burden of training and education costs.
I don't want to get locked into a long-term agreement -- can I try out the Arizona Cement Masons on a temporary basis?
Yes! The Arizona Cement Masons will work with you on a project-by-project basis, called Project Labor Agreements (PLA). Our PLAs offer you the opportunity to partner with us for one job, with no long-term commitment required. Although we are confident you'll want to continue working with us, this partnership begins and ends according to your project's parameters.

Partnering with us, you will have constant access to a pool of cement masons that you can utilize to fit your needs and adjust to your current project load. You can be confident that our manpower will be:
Trained in the trade as well as in safety -- reducing your liability for accidents and workers' compensation costs.

Committed to getting the job done right the first time -- you'll experience fewer callbacks and better quality work...we guarantee it!
